A vaginal yeast fungus, it itches, it stings and it is very unpleasant. The symptoms are quite specific. And it is better to treat it as quickly as possible to finally feel good in its intimacy. But how to treat yourself?
Anti-fungal medications, how to obtain them?
In case of fungus, we have very effective medications. Two ways to get it:
- Going to see his attending doctor. He is doing an exam to see if it is a fungus and makes a prescription. Then the medicine purchased in pharmacy will be taken care of by the health insurance.
- By buying yourself a pharmacy medicine. Indeed, some medicines against fungal infections are over-the-counter, so available without prescription and therefore not reimbursed. It is not advisable to treat yourself without going through the doctor’s case if it is your first fungal infection. Indeed, even if you think that is what this is about, it is not certain, because there are other gynecological problems that may look like a fungus, but require a completely different treatment. On the other hand, if you have already had fungal infections and you see that this is exactly the same problem, you can buy a pharmacy treatment. Attention, if the fungus does not heal as usual, consult your doctor.
Medicine for fungus, in what form?
Antimycotic drugs are present in local form: OVA or creams (econazole, ketoconazole, Bifonazole, Isoconazole, Sertaconazole…)
The eggs can be set up several days in a row or once, it depends on the drug. The cream, it is to be applied on the vulva. In a few days, the problem must be cured.
The treatment can also be prescribed by general means, in tablets (fluconazole) and only one tablet is sufficient.
Treatment for recurrent fungus
Sometimes the classic treatment is not enough. Because in some women, the fungus comes back regularly. In this case, another treatment, the background treatment may be prescribed by a doctor. It is fluconazole at a dose of 1 tablet per day.
This treatment takes three to six months. During the treatment period, there are no more fungal infections, and even at the stop, there is usually a spacing of fungal attacks for at least 6 months to one year… But not always unfortunately, or not necessarily in the long run.
